2021 Mazda CX-5

Those looking for a thoughtfully designed SUV must give the 2021 Mazda CX-5 a second look. It is well built and appears more expensive than it is. The car has constantly gathered attention from users owing to its responsiveness and luxury. The package is being further evolved for 2021, as would be visible through this write-up.

Trims Available:

One can choose from seven different trim levels on the 2021 Mazda CX-5. These include:

  • Sport
  • Touring
  • Carbon Edition
  • Carbon Edition Turbo
  • Grand Touring
  • Grand Touring Reserve
  • Signature

For 2021, the Carbon Edition and Carbon Edition turbo, and Signature are the latest trims which were not available earlier.

Exterior Appearance:

The front grille looks like it is smiling at those looking at it. Consider this as an interesting difference in comparison to all the others trying to outdo each other with their aggressive appearances. The black mesh is visible on the grille and the full LED lights are curved. Nothing has changed here from the outgoing models for the 2021 variants. LED fog lights, same as before, continue to look great on this vehicle.

19 inch wheels are available on most of the trims of the 2021 Mazda CX-5, with a few differences in terms of finishes. However, lower trims get 17-inch wheels on the CX-5. Heating mirrors are available on the Grand Touring trim and above.

Like the front, even the rear has a premium and classy appearance. Dual chrome exhaust tips are available as standard on all trims of the CX-5.

Engine Power:

This car gets a 2.5 liter turbo engine with 250 hp of power and 320 lbs.-ft of torque. The turbo engine certainly adds a lot of fun to the drive since response to the accelerator is instant at any speed.

Interior Appearance:

The Mazda Smart Entry system will continue to be available on all models except the base trim. The vehicle’s Touring trim offers leatherette seating, and customers can enjoy heated front and rear seats. There are several seating materials options, and the Signature gets luxurious nappa leather. One can also spot the door trims with high quality stitching.

The driver gets an 8-way power adjustable seat with 2-way lumbar support in the Grand Touring trim, as well as on those above it. Memory functions for 2 driver settings are available.

Apart from the well-designed gauge cluster, one also gets a Heads Up Display on the screen, which displays important information such as speed.  These are available on the GT Reserve and Signature models.

Leather wrapped steering wheel and rain sensing wipers are available on all models. Storage area in the central console is deep. The touchscreen system is new in this vehicle, with a Rear Camera Display that has vastly improved from last year.

Safety Features:

Every variant of the Mazda CX-5 is equipped with i-Activsense® safety technology, which consists of several cutting edge features to ensure that every ride is the safest. Here is a list of these features:

  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop and Go
  • Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection
